Hopedale seeks resident to fill School Committee vacancy

A vacancy on the Hopedale School Committee is prompting town officials to seek a resident willing to serve in the temporary position until the annual town election in May.

Hopedale residents who are registered voters and interested in serving must complete a Talent Bank form at www.hopedale-ma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/716/Talent-Bank-Form-PDF and submit it by email to Town Clerk Lisa M. Pedroli at [email protected]. Applicants must attend a joint meeting of the Select Board and School Committee who will jointly decide whom to appoint.

The School Committee works with the district superintendent to oversee Hopedale Public Schools. Its responsibilities include providing oversight of the district and addressing matters affecting the town's public schools. Regular meetings are generally held at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise announced, in the Jr./Sr. High School's Media Center.

Residents who want to learn more about the position's responsibilities, expectations and time commitment can contact Superintendent Cari Perchase, Ed.D., at [email protected] to arrange a conversation.
