According to a Facebook post by Hopedale Police Department on Sept. 19, “Hopedale Police and Fire responded to Richard Road for a reported lawn mower on fire with extension to a structure.  

“While en route, responding officers observed a large amount of smoke in the area. Upon arrival, officers attempted to knock down the fire using the extinguishers from their cruisers, but were unsuccessful. 

“Hopedale Fire arrived on scene shortly after and quickly knocked down the fire, preventing further damage. The structure sustained minor damage, including melting from the flames.” 

On a related Facebook post, a family member reported that “everyone is safe and sound” and extended “a huge thank you to the Hopedale Fire Department, EMTs, and police for doing such a phenomenal job.”
