Trash complaints, neighbor disputes, structure fires

Between July 16 and Aug. 15, the Hopedale Police and Fire Departments responded to hundreds of calls, many related to motor vehicle stops, vehicle accidents/crashes, traffic complaints, erratic operators, preventative patrolling, community policing, illegal parking, theft/larceny/forgery/fraud, burglar alarms, lost/found property, property checks, animal complaints, well-being checks, road hazards, soliciting, LTC/FIC (license to carry/firearms identification card) matters, warrant/summons service, suspicious persons/activity, court appearances, 911 hang-ups/open lines, safety detail officers, car seat installation, records requests and general information. . 

Hopedale also provided assistance to Bellingham, Mendon and Milford.

July 18 at 9:15 p.m., Freedom & Progress Sts., motor vehicle stop, arrest. A 76-year-old Hopedale male was arrested and charged with OUI-liquor or .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.
