Collins was a longtime supporter of Hopedale, especially the library
On May 5, the Friends of the Hopedale Library held a special tree dedication ceremony in loving memory of Nancy Collins, a cherished and longtime member of the Friends, who died in 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Nancy dedicated more than 20 years to teaching, with much of her career spent in the Hopedale School District as a foreign language teacher. Her commitment to education and her community left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
To honor her memory, a dwarf weeping cherry tree with pink flowers (Nancy’s favorite color) and a commemorative plaque were purchased by the Friends of the Hopedale Library and placed near the Statue of Hope.
Hopedale Horticulturalist Walter Swift of Swift Creative Landscape planted the tree and installed the plaque; the tree stands as a beautiful and living tribute to Nancy’s bright spirit and the many lives she touched.
