At its meetings on Aug. 28 and Sept. 11, the Hopedale Select Board made appointments, accepted resignations, and accepted donations.  

The board appointed: 

Michael A. Giovanella as a police officer 

Stanley Golenski III as Highway Superintendent, effective Sept. 11, 2023

The board accepted the resignations of: 

Call firefighter Joseph Night, effective July 20, 2023

Call firefighter Jacob Fantini, effective July 30, 2023

Vincent Ozella from Highway Dept., effective Sept. 8, 2023

The board also accepted the following donations: 

$64,750.85 to fund legal fees associated with West Street litigation

$5,000 in gift cards from Pinz (for town youth) 

$40 donation to Bancroft Memorial Library from Ilene Kraimer O’Neil

The board also accepted a Complete Streets grant from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in the amount of $500,000.
