Selectmen Recognize Dr. Vincent Arone’s 100th Birthday Dr. Arone celebrated 100 years in March

In 1960, Dr. Arone founded The Ledges as a summer camp for children and young adults living with autism. Soon, it became a year-round facility and today provides services to approximately 40 adults living with development, physical and medical disabilities. Source: www.theledges.org

On March 25, 2021, Dr. Vincent Arone of Hopedale turned 100 years old. 
In a letter to the Board of Selectmen, the Council on Aging shared this interesting information about Dr. Arone: 
• In 1960, he founded the Ledges School in Hopedale, established for children and adults with disabilities (first as a camp, then as a school) 
• He has an active town resident in many ways including serving on the Hopedale School Committee and a board member of the Hopedale Foundation 
• He is a congregant of Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale 
• He, along with his wife Marie who passed in 2005, raised their five children in Hopedale; he also has 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
At their March 22 meeting, selectmen Louis Arcudi III and Chairman Brian Keyes wished Dr. Arone a happy birthday.
