On March 25, 2021, Dr. Vincent Arone of Hopedale turned 100 years old.
In a letter to the Board of Selectmen, the Council on Aging shared this interesting information about Dr. Arone:
• In 1960, he founded the Ledges School in Hopedale, established for children and adults with disabilities (first as a camp, then as a school)
• He has an active town resident in many ways including serving on the Hopedale School Committee and a board member of the Hopedale Foundation
• He is a congregant of Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale
• He, along with his wife Marie who passed in 2005, raised their five children in Hopedale; he also has 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
At their March 22 meeting, selectmen Louis Arcudi III and Chairman Brian Keyes wished Dr. Arone a happy birthday.
