Three candidates will vie for the
vacant selectman’s seat in the Dec.
8 election.
The special election, which
comes on the heels of a rejected
override leaving a budget gap that
needs closing, will be held Tuesday,
December 8. Voting will be held
in the Draper Gymnasium, 13
Dutcher St., from noon to 7 PM.
The seat, which Town Clerk
Lisa Pedroli said is only open
through next year’s annual town
meeting in May, was vacated
when former selectman Thomas
Wesley moved out of town this
summer and had to resign. The three candidates are residents Michael Edward Collins,
Kaplan Hasanoglu and Glenda
A. Hazard.
In order to appear on the ballot, signatures of 29 registered
Hopedale voters needed to be
turned in to the Town Clerk for
certification of names on or before: Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 5 PM.
