The Hopedale Alumni Association is pleased to sponsor two candidates from this year’s Junior class to participate in the American Legion Boy’s and Girl’s State programs, to be held at Stonehill College June 15-21, 2024.  

These unique offerings are designed to teach democratic values, improve knowledge of government, and encourage citizen involvement through an intensive week-long program that immerses students in grass roots democracy.  

The Alumni Association will also sponsor one candidate (age 15-17), to participate in the American Legion’s Student Trooper program at the Massachusetts State Police Academy (dates TBD but last year’s sessions were in August).  

The Student Trooper Program is designed to provide insight and an understanding into what jobs in law enforcement look like, what is involved in their training, and to expose those interested to the everyday demands that a career in law enforcement entails.
